Annemarie Shrouder

Welcome!

I’m Annemarie Shrouder and this is my website – currently under construction as I re-vision how I’m meant to serve...

About me:

I work at the intersection of connection, community, and care - supporting the conditions where belonging can take root.

My work is grounded in lived experience, deep listening, and a curiosity about what helps people feel they belong (and what happens when they don’t) in our workplaces, in our communities, and in our lives.

For the past 22 years, I've worked with leaders, teams, and organizations around the world to build more inclusive workplaces and healthier communities—places where people feel seen, heard, valued, and able to contribute fully. Along the way, I've become increasingly curious about another question:

What sustains the people doing the work of change?

About my work:

I am a writer. You can find my work on my blog. And I am chronicling my journey Leaning into Connection on Ghost. I have written a book called Being Brown in a Black and White World – conversations for leaders on race, racism and belonging. And will be releasing a second (updated) edition in the coming months.

I am a facilitator and speaker. The topics I work with are (no surprise): connection, community, care, and belonging. Why they are important, how we do these, and what gets in the way.

I am a consultant. Supporting organizations and leaders who want to continue the important work of creating belonging.

I am a facilitator and SME with Unstoppable Performance Leaders – an ecosystem of professionals led by Minki Basu who are all committed to making workplaces better.

And I am a coach. The clients I love to work with are those who are looking to go deeper, be more present in their lives, and bring more of who they are into the world. And if you are a leader looking to build your inclusion and belonging muscles, I am honoured to also support that growth (which, if desired, can be combined with consulting).

In addition:

I co-lead monthly Community Calls with Gabby Zuniga (of Belonging Works) – you can find out more about those calls (and register) here.

I host a regular session called Grief Unmuted with Sandra Hunter, Yvonne Heath and Lynn Banis. It’s a virtual space where we listen, share, learn, and hold space for the various ways grief grips and changes us. If you’re interested in joining us, please send me an email and I will add you to the list.

All of this will land here soon.

For now, I’m listening, learning and letting myself evolve into this new chapter.
